Education

No formal education after secondary school. Obtained computer science diploma (in 1989) by self study and taking Dutch state exams (AMBI) at higher educational level.

Programmer community activities

• 2011-now: Treasurer of the Common Lisp Foundation.
• 2006-now: Author/maintainer of the Rucksack Common Lisp open source persistence library.
• 2005-2007: Co-organizer (with Pascal Costanza and others) of Lisp workshops at the ECOOP conferences (European Conference on Object Oriented Programming) in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
• 2005-now: Co-organizer (with Edi Weitz) of the European Common Lisp Meetings in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013.
• 2004-now: Various presentations at local, European and Japanese Lisp workshops and user group meetings.

Other

Apart from Common Lisp, I have written software in Basic, C, C++, Javascript, Mathematica, Pascal, Scheme and various assembler languages. When necessary, I read programs in languages like Fortran, Prolog or Python.

I enjoy learning languages. Dutch is my native language and I use English every day at work, but I also speak and read French, German, Russian, Spanish and Japanese (at JLPT 1 level).
